Week 48: Soggy and Froggy

Hey all! It's been unreasonably warm around here lately. It was like 50 degrees earlier this week, which is unheard of. Fargo is basically one big slushy right now. There's all kinds of treasures that were encased in ice that have been emerging as the world thaws, though - we've seen playing cards, lots of booze bottles, and a CD labelled "AFRIKAANS." (That CD, unfortunately, did not play, so the contents shall remain unknown. Perhaps that's for the best.)

Pretty average week. Had a lesson with Linda, who was living with a less-active a while ago. She's really sweet and said she'd read the Book of Mormon. Met with June, who is still doing good. It's cool how willing she is to travel to member's homes for lessons now. Still working on church with her, but she'll get there. Sister White is inviting everyone to her baptism like it's a birthday party, and I'm really happy! Sister Richards got a blessing this week because she was really sick, and she's doing a lot better, so she should be able to make it out on Saturday. We had Sister White try on the baptismal suit to make sure it would fit her and she was so excited I could have cried!

Otherwise, we didn't meet with a lot of our regulars because Sister Harris and I have been sick as of Friday. Nothing too serious, just heavy colds, but Sister Harris had it a lot worse than I did. We had a good district meeting (I may or may not have spent it wrapped to my eyes in a fuzzy blanket) but by Saturday Sister Harris was down for the count and I was running on fumes. We had two important lessons that day, so I was able to go on exchanges with Sister Elzinga and Sister Feeny and we made it work. Definitely not my best teaching that day, but we have a new investigator named Josh because of that teaching appointment! He doesn't believe in God and didn't quite get why we were there, but by the end of our appointment he said he'd be willing to try to pray. Blessings from giving what you have! We're doing a lot better now, but we were quite a froggy pair at church on Sunday :)

Maybe we've just been delirious from DayQuil and a weird pday break last week, but we've been major goofballs this week. It's been kind of grey and we've had a couple of bummers with not being able to meet with people, but we've been weird enough to keep our spirits up, I guess! I've definitely learned that if something brings me down, the Lord will likely give me an opportunity to do something incredibly dorky right afterward so I don't get down in the dumps :) Always grateful for that!

Hope you all have a lovely week - keep a little sunshine in your heart!

No pictures because I've not been at my most photogenic the last few days, to say the least. I do have an artist's depiction of the Fargo sisters, though!
