Not a ton to say today - I forgot my old planner, haha. It's pretty much impossible to remember what happened throughout the week, even with my planner, so bear with me! It's really foggy today and I'm pretty sure that the snow is finally just around the corner. I wouldn't be surprised if I pull out the winter boots this week. But yeah, it's a new transfer! Transfer calls are tomorrow and everyone ships out on Thursday, so we should be getting some new blood around here! I'll get the old district picture sent out as soon as I figure out who has it, haha!
There was a RS activity where we stained and painted these cute wood blocks, and that was a really fun time! We had a good turnout and got to hang out with the ward for a little while.
We started meeting with this cute member from Liberia. Her name's Marie and she speaks French as her first language so I'm pretty sure that she only understands like 60% of what we're saying, but she has really strong faith in Christ! She used to be Muslim, so she's got a really unique experience that she can use to bring others to the church. She's really nice and loves to laugh with us.
June came to church yesterday with a sweet member of the ward, but honestly it was kind of a bust. She didn't have a very good time - felt like there wasn't enough Bible and the music didn't bring the spirit. And she had a really uncomfortable interaction with our ward mission leader. I think he was trying to help address some of her concerns with the service, but she just ended up feeling spotlighted as an outsider and went home after the second hour. It was super frustrating. But June has this tendency to find all the negative things about everything we teach and then later her heart is softened, so we're hoping that'll happen again and she'll have the faith to give it all another go with a better attitude.
We did a lot of tracting and trying potentials this week otherwise, and didn't have a ton of success with that, but we still made it through! There were several times when I was feeling like I just couldn't knock one more door, and the Lord threw us a tender mercy like a less-active being home or a person with really good questions for us, or even just a kind person telling us we're doing good work out here. Even if people don't always want the exact message we have, it's nice to know that we've brightened someone's day somehow once in a while. Count the little victories, because those are usually the most important ones!
Hope you're all staying safe and warm - love you!
